Compact, powerful, and customizable, the Alta X from FREEFLY is a modular quadcopter platform that can meet nearly any drone requirements you have. From RTK mapping to carrying heavy payloads, the Alta X can be combined with a variety of (optional) modules, payloads, and accessories. The Alta X frame comes equipped with four props and X9 motors, with each of the four propellers featuring FREEFLY's ActiveBlade design. ActiveBlade tilts the blade in forward flight to help drastically reduce vibration. Speaking of vibration, this version of the Alta X does not include the Payload Vibration Damper, which is required to shoot smooth footage under the high vibrations caused by the Alta X's powerful motors. This makes this version ideal as a backup frame or the start of a new system.

The powerful X9 motors and propellers also help give the Alta X its strength. The Alta X can lift and fly payloads up to 35 lb while still maintaining a trust ratio of 1.9:1. With 35 lb of added gear, the Alta X can fly for up to 10.75 minutes. Without any payloads, the Alta X has a 3.5:1 thrust ratio and up to 50 minutes of flight time. Please note that a battery, landing gear, camera, and transmitter for the Alta X are not included.

No matter how you use the Alta X, the drone is engineered for easy transport and quick deployment. The propellers and arms fold to cut its physical size by half, and with just a push of your finger, you can expand the drone to full size. When expanded, the linkages stiffen the booms to help ensure accurate, low-vibration flight. A hard-shell travel case is included to protect the Alta X and accessories during transport and storage.

Pilot Pro Controller with Herelink RF
Designed by pilots, for pilots, the Pilot Pro controller is a feature-rich and intuitive remote that places the controls you need, in the locations you need them. Various knobs, switches, and buttons control nearly all aspects of the Alta X, from drone movement and throttle, gimbal control and recording, emergency functions, and more. Multiple customizable buttons let you tailor the overall experience to your personal preferences. The fold-out 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 gives you an HD drone's-eye view of the action, along with essential telemetry data. While the Pilot Pro offers a modular transmitter system, this model sends commands and video over a 2.4 GHz connection using the Herelink RF transmitter.

Additional features include an all-weather construction that features a durable aerospace-grade aluminum body. The entire remote is IP43-rated for water and dust resistance, while the 8" Samsung tablet has its own IP68-rated protection. The remote can also handle extreme temperatures with an operating range of 14 to 122° F. When it comes to power, the built-in battery is enough for up to 5 hours of operation, with the tablet's own battery giving it up to 11 hours of life. Extended the Pilot Pro's power is possible via a hot swap feature and optional external battery packs.

Remote ID Upgrade Kit
Remote ID is the technology that broadcasts essential identification and location information from the drone as it flies. The included Remote ID Upgrade Kit lets you add this feature to this Alta X, allowing it to adhere to FAA requirements.
Alta X Travel Case
This Alta X bundle includes the Alta X Travel Case. This rugged, hard-shell case is the AL2727-1404 single-lid case made by Pelican. It's constructed from lightweight, high-impact polyethylene with molded-in ribs and corrugations for secure nonslip stacking. Pelican also provided increased durability in the edges and corners by adding 20% more material in those locations. A custom-cut foam interior is precisely shaped to hold the default Alta X frame in its folded configuration, an optional Futaba 14SG remote, and optional Skyview landing gear. Other features include:

  • Molded-in, tongue-in-groove gasketed parting lines for splash resistance and tight seals after impact
  • Positive anti-shear locks to help prevent lid separation on impact and reduce hardware stress

Auterion Enterprise PX4
The Auterion is the operating system of the Alta X. It's designed to automate logging and compliance, support RTK use with photo logging, and work with the MAVSDK API for custom software solutions. Custom solutions you design can be sent from the ground via radio or onboard via an optional expansion computer.
Powered Expansion Ports
Some of the optional modules and accessories you can mount onto the Alta X require power, and the Alta X is made to provide that with three battery power outputs. Each output provides 10A of current, and you can choose from a 5 or 12 VDC connection.
